READ UPDATE BELOW

Holy Name Church was constructed in 1988 -- thirty-one years ago.

We are now facing some serious restoration issues. Much has been accomplished already.

The roof needs to be replaced.

The interior of the church needs attention too.  Wood needs re-varnishing.  The pews need replacing.

Our Sunday collection only keeps the parish operational. But, the repairs: We need help.

But, its the roof that is our issue now.

We are a small community so we need help. If you can help us please do so.

DEACON MICHAEL, parish administrator

Thank you for considering helping our parish with its much needed renovations.

The slide show below shows you what we are facing.

And we're a small congregation and we need help.  Whatever you can give will help us.
All of our supplies need to be imported which adds to the costs of things. Everything from nails, tacks, paint, lumber, glass windows -- everything is imported and is costly. That's why we need help.

We make a promise of daily prayers to all of our benefactors.

You are prayed for every Sunday by the entire congregation here and the Rosary Guild prays weekly for the needs and intentions of  our benefactors.  I remember you and your intentions everyday in my prayer. You are also remembered at a monthly Mass said in Rome for your intentions and the Archbishop of Nassau remembers at Mass the benefactors of our local church every day.
Need more information please email me :  holynamebimini@yahoo.com  or call me  1 242 473 1252

UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 2019

As of December 2018 we were able to replace ALL of the windows in the church. This at a cost of nearly $20,000 - materials and labour. All paid for, in large part, by the Men's ministry through several fund raisers and also from generous donors.

The new hurricane proof windows are salt resistant and perfect for our climate.

We have also been able upgrade the lighting in the church and the crypt chapel has undergone a

re-design. The sound system has been upgraded.

A very large....yes, a very large fan has been installed in the church ceiling at a cost of over $6000.00  This fan does an excellent job in cooling the church and alleviates the need for air conditioning which is cost prohibitive in a church of our design. Not only would the A/C units be very expensive and subject to salt-air issues but the cost to operate such a system would be significant. However, this fan is excellent for us.  A generous benefactor made the fan possible.

The roof is our next major project and we need increased funding for this. Please, if you can help we would be grateful. We will still need $2,500 more to undertake the roof project. The labour costs are expected to be significant given our style of roof.  The new roof materials are expected to last for well over half a century at least. BUT WE ARE READY TO BEGIN. We have put out for bids for a shingle style roof and for an aluminum metal roof.  Each is salt resistant and will last for half a century or longer. Each style and type has received engineering approval. Please help us.

We await the outcome of the bidding process. We're ready to begin.
